Fjällvandra sarek

I decided to invite myself to their company to ask if they had found any good wading spots. Many streams were dry. Det blev en väg till både inre styrka och en djupare förståelse för världen omkring mig.

Med nyfikenhet och drivkraft har jag utforskat fjäll och skogar, alltid på jakt efter nya platser att slå upp mitt tält för natten. It was an easy river crossing.

This part of the trail was probably the steepest of the whole route, not exactly exposure, but required sometimes scrambling with the help of hands.

De etablerade färdvägarna genom Sarek beskrivs ingående med tips på lämpliga vadställen, var det kan vara bra att slå läger eller vilken sida av en viss dal man ska undvika på grund av höga videsnår. Six out of thirteen peaks over 2,000 m are located within the boundaries of the national park, and there are around 100 glaciers.

There are no signposted trails or shelters in the park, which together with large river crossings and drastically changing weather conditions make trekking through Sarek a challenge.

After the rain, I packed my tent, having curious reindeer friends hanging around again. Amazing sceneries opened up to every direction, but the wind was so hard, that I had to go back down almost immediately.

I started the final stretch toward Skierfe and walked around and down Gierdogiesjtjåhkkå. Time just flew while I took photos and admired nature. Climbing higher was not an option, I had to go around to the other side of the mountain to have some shelter. While the winds at Bassoajvve had been extreme, at Skierfe only mild wind caressed my hair.

Soon I arrived above the treeline, sweating. Vid färdens slut avnjuter vi en gemensam middag på Saltoluokta och bastar nere vid sjön. Efter en gemensam lunch packar vi in allt i minibussar och far västerut mot fjällvärlden. I walked happily ten meters, and stumbled upon the Swedes I had met by River Bielajåhkå. After surviving to the other side, I sat by the river feeling very relieved and also empowered.
